Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started to get recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 when she released the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as from Sweat It Out, on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work together with Rihanna. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she recorded with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was supported by EarthGang. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was released with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over 3 million times within the first 7 days. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
